Spectrum’s staff is made up of Doctors of Physical Therapy, Licensed Athletic Trainers, and Clinical Specialists with certifications in Sports PT. Our knowledge and experience assures patients that we’re qualified to treat those wanting to return to their normal routines, as well as those of top athletes.
Dr. Gregory Zaccone
PT, DPT, MSPT, SCS, ATC
Dr. Gregory R. Zaccone founded Spectrum Physical Therapy in 2004 and serves as the company’s president. As of 2003, he has been a Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of NJ. In June of 2008, Dr. Zaccone became one of a select group of therapists in the state of NJ to receive a Board Certification as a Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy. He is an Advanced Clinician for hip and joint conditions through the Hospital for Special Surgery. Dr. Zaccone has in-patient experience as a staff physical therapist at a number of major hospital institutions in the New York metro area, including Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY, Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, NJ, and Englewood Medical Center in Englewood, NJ. Also, Dr. Zaccone has experience in the outpatient setting with various physical therapy clinics in NJ such as Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation and Palisades Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Center.
As a Certified Athletic Trainer, Gregory Zaccone has experience at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels. Dr. Zaccone served as an intern Athletic Trainer for the New York Giants Mini Camp. He also served as Head Athletic Trainer for the Fordham University Men’s Basketball Team, and was a Student Athletic Trainer for the University of Delaware Football and Women’s Lacrosse teams. Dr. Zaccone was the Head Athletic Trainer for Pascack Valley High School in Hillsdale, NJ and served as Staff Athletic Trainer for Northern Valley Regional High Schools in Demarest and Old Tappan, NJ.
Dr. Gregory Zaccone received both his Doctorate and Masters of Science degrees in Physical Therapy from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. He also graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training.
Dr. Thomas Donofrio
PT, DPT
Tom Donofrio has joined our practice, bringing with him 25 years of experience in the Physical Therapy field. After graduating from UMDNJ in 2000 as a licensed Physical Therapist, Tom began his career working with the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma Unit at Lennox Hill Hospital. Both Tom and Greg Zaccone worked at Lenox Hill early in their careers. While there, Tom had the opportunity to work with the general population, as well as both the New York Rangers and professional tennis players. Throughout the years, Tom has gained experience in clinical, home, and in-patient settings working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, treating orthopedic and neurological conditions. Aside from treating patients in the clinic, spending time with his wife and children, and attending his son’s baseball games, Tom is also an instructor for the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Essex County College in Newark. Tom has a wealth of knowledge and is dedicated to sharing that knowledge with his students, patients, and colleagues. Tom has been a wonderful addition to the Spectrum Physical Therapy family, and we look forward to growing our practice with Tom on our team.
Dr. Joshua Perez
PT, DPT
Dr. Joshua Perez is a recent graduate of the University of Scranton, where he completed both his Undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Dr. Josh brings with him years of experience working in Physical Therapy offices. As a former athlete and sports enthusiast, Dr. Josh took the tremendous opportunity to spend the first half of 2023 learning from and working alongside the Physical Therapy team of the San Francisco Giants. We are excited to be a part of Dr. Josh’s journey, and look forward to watching him continue to grow and excel in his field.

Mike Blackgrove
Personal Trainer | MSA, NSCA, CPT
Mike Blackgrove has been a part of Dr. Gregory Zaccone’s team at Spectrum for over 10 years. In 2010 Mike became a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has also obtained his own LLC affiliated with Spectrum Wellness formally known as Progressive Movement Training.
